The term, fishin’ expedition, was used by my grandfather to define any trip to the lake, river, tank or pond that he and I were to fish. His name was Herman Runge and he was affectionately referred to by clients, friends and family simply as ‘Runge’. Those early days spent with Runge on the bank of a pond would be the primer for my angling enthusiasm which would span the next five decades and continues today …a passion of chasing most anything with fins all over the globe!
fishin’ expeditions is the continuation of that experience Runge set in place. His passion as an angler, instructor and fishing guide continues today.
Sure, the Number One priority is “catching” and we want to put you in the best possible place…at just the right time…for you to "catch" the exotic species of your dreams. But as you know, there is a whole lot of planning and preparation that goes into the process before the “catching” can happen. That’s where we come in.
Hello friends. My name is David Fields and I would like the opportunity to earn your business and help you plan your next…fishin’ expedition and Angling Adventure of a Lifetime!
Since those early years with Runge I have been blessed with the good fortune to chase and fulfill my passion of fishing the Americas. In the infancy of “bass tournament fishing” and for most of the 70’s I competed in several of the bass tournament circuits throughout the US. One of the awards I received for winning a tournament in Arkansas in 1975 was a trip to Lake Yojoa in Central Honduras. That trip was to be the ‘hook’ and the first of many… fishin’ expeditions for me outside the United States.
Over the years I have escorted family, friends, business associates and clients throughout the Americas in search of the most exciting Sport fishing Adventure Destinations available.
Since that first trip to Honduras 35 years ago our expeditions have taken us to exciting Sport fishing Adventure Destinations throughout North, Central and South America in search of the most exotic species. Like the explosive Peacock Bass… our specialty and passion. Truly an incredibly exciting sport fish and the Amazon Watershed of Northern Brazil…truly an unforgettable fishin’ adventure!
Be assured, we will never represent a destination or lodge that we (myself or FE associates) have not previously “field tested”, many on an annual basis. Thus, we will have fresh hands on information about the facilities and the management. In addition to providing a world class fishing experience, the destinations and lodges represented by fishin’ expeditions must meet our strict requirements for safety, service, cleanliness, hospitality, and food preparation.
It seemed only natural that after years of planning and hosting fishin’ trips for friends, family and business associates, to all points across the Americas, fishin’ expeditions would be founded. It happened in 2004 and now we are finishing our 6th year. My, how fast those six years have passed! In part, we are a booking agency and outfitter focused on providing client intensive and personal service. But the reality is…we have an ongoing passion for fishin’ these exciting destinations and we want to share that passion and experience with you! Thus, many of our trips are 
“hosted”. Our experience at providing personal service within our other businesses stretches back over 35 years. Our corporate motto, “Sport fishing Outfitters With A Passion For Excellence… sums up our approach to giving priority and personal attention to our clients, before, during and after their adventure.
We know the competition is keen for your adventure outfitting needs… you have a lot of choices to select from… much like I had over the past thirty-five years. We are honored that you are presently browsing the fishin’ expeditions website. We hope you find it informative. Perhaps, for whatever reason, you are ready for a change…maybe the last experience wasn’t quite up to your expectations or possibly this is your first foray to an exotic destination. We have served many clients, both individual and corporate, and we would like the opportunity to serve you as well.
So here we are, fishin’ expeditions… approaching things a little different…with fresh insight and a passion, to assist you in selecting, planning and preparing for your next adventure to that exotic destination of your choice. You can be assured, we will have fresh, up to date reports and all the information necessary to keep you fully informed. With details like destination specific tackle, clothing, travel documents and resources as well as any special requirements germane to the adventure.
