"I must not forget the food.  Indeed, I will NEVER forget the food!  Freddy the gourmet chef, constantly surprised us with different gastronomic delights every time we sat down for a meal.  For instance, when was the last time you had Chicken Cordon Bleu at a fish camp for LUNCH???  A great shore lunch one day with fantastic scenery was appreciated and box lunches can be provided if you prefer to stay out all day." ___Gary Clark

Outfitters Report
Hi Friends,

It's been awhile since my last report. Hopefully I'm back on track with the Sportfishing Journal and our Reports from South of the Border. In case you haven't heard...Huites is Hot! This past spring was our best ever and the fall season is just around the corner. If you like explosive topwater action...the fall season is just what the Doctor ordered. The action...fast and furious...really heats up!

Kevin's Double

Here's Kevin holding two Huites Pigs in the 8# range. I can't begin to tell you how many fish this size that Huites is now producing...

                               it's simply amazing!

        Now for what's coming up:

October, November and December are some of the best months to fish Lake Huites. Especially if you like explosive top water action! Lake Huites is at its' best in the fall...brim full after the summer rains...no fishing, that's zero - nada - off limits and no pressure ...for 3-4 months.  The bait fish are headed to the shallows and the Bass are right behind them. Flooded stick-ups, an abundance of stump infested bays, rocky shorelines and hungry Giant Bass await your arrival!
Huites has long been recognized as the spinner bait angler's dream lake. A white 1/2 oz. tandem willow Booyah Blade will certainly get your arm jerked! Just remember to bring several. Here's a tip: Huites bass like single spins fished deep. Back off into 20'-25' and work the SB slow just off the bottom then BAM...hang on!  The weather in the fall is great...comfortably cool  mornings and normally warm afternoons. But  sometimes it can remain hot in Mexico in early fall. You'll have ample time for air conditioning in the rooms at Trophy Bass Lodge but when the bite is on it's time to be on the water...and these three months provide exciting action from top water at daylight to the lofting of the last cast at dusk.   I have some great prices on some select dates for October, November and December. November always books up early and this fall has been no different. However, we do have some openings certainly for groups of 2-4 anglers.
Then the pre-spawn of January is right around the corner followed by the first spawning wave in February.
Give me a call soon to book your next Fishin' Expedition to the number one Bassin' Destination in all of Mexico. I want to see you at the lodge...Trophy Bass Lodge on the shore of Lake Huites so you too you can experience this awesome fishery!

If you are a fall angler and love top water...Huites is awesome in the fall...pick your dates and call me soon. We are already booking October 2008 through May 2009! Don't let the dates you want slip away.

Dan Basore visits Trophy Bass Lodge and Lake Huites... Quite Regularly...3 times in 6 months!
Basore

There are those special trips we all dream about and for some, like Dan Basore a vintage fishing tackle collector and hard core bass caster from the early years of professional bass fishing, there are "fishing adventures of a lifetime."

Dan has had three great trips since his first with me last December, but his last, this past May, was simply Text Book Perfect.

"Charlo and I proceeded from the underwater island out to the main river channel and the locator lit up with fish from 20 to 60 feet. Many were suspended but a number of them were near the bottom positioned as biters. I cast the spoon, let it fall to the ledge, lifted it sharply and let it flutter down like a dying shad. Bam...it was game on. Big bass after big bass!  We caught a lot more big bass on the fabulous Lake Huites."

(Read the full report on Dan's May/June trip to Huites at the Newspage of the fishin' expeditions web site)

I hope you enjoy these Reports from South of the Border. If you do, drop me an email and let me know...better yet, let me hook you up with your next fishin' expedition and perhaps it too will turn into "the fishing adventure of a lifetime."

Sincerely,
