We are very excited about things that are happening for the 2011-12 season at Amazon Fishing Expeditions. AFE will continue our diverse offerings of some of the premier adventure destinations and best opportunities for catching peacock bass throughout the watershed of Northern Brazil and the Amazon tributaries.
To begin with, we have added both luxury and mobility to our Amazon angling portfolio. For those who like to have new scenery throughout the trip as well as the ability to move to the best fishing waters quickly, we are now offering The Amazon Santana. Designed for 20 clients, this yacht is equipped with 9 double rooms, each with a private bath, as well as a luxurious VIP suite with a King-size Bed. A fabulous yacht needs staff of equal caliber, so we have employed the long term staff previously associated with the Santana operation. This yacht will begin the season in the very productive Madeira river system, and as water conditions evolve, we will move to rivers with a history of holding monster peacock bass; thereby, giving you the best chance to land a trophy. It doesn’t get any better than this! Even the largest, most luxurious yachts of the past will pale in comparison to what the Top Shelf Amazon Santana has to offer.

What is so special about the Fly-In Floating Cabins for Peacock Bass Fishing? We are always looking for camps that meet our standards of cleanliness and safety; guides that are knowledgeable and hosts that strive to please our quests with good food and great hospitality. Generally, we are seeking facilities that will accommodate 6 – 8 fishermen with air-conditioned cabins or staterooms and private showers and baths. Sport fishing yachts, commercial fishing boats and even survival fishing must stop when low water prevents passage. With the Fly-In Floating Cabins, our anglers are able to access these Amazon pristine fisheries like never before.
Once our small 8-guest parties arrive in Manaus, they are whisked to camp in RPA’s 8 passenger turbo-pop float plane or fixed wheel charter flight.

It is our mission to organize and provide our clients and guests with an exceptional angling experience. To accomplish this, we must trek into remote areas to find the virgin rivers, lakes and lagoons, away from the large crowds and commercial fishing operations and the melee of lodges and houseboats.
For those that wish for the nautical experience of Peacock Bass fishing, we also offer the Black Water Explorer houseboat. It is a first-class tri-level fully air-conditioned yacht that can pamper up to 16 anglers.
We utilize various sizes of aluminum boats equipped with outboard motors, trolling motors and paddles to access the narrow passes and shallow creeks which lead to the fertile lagoons and lakes. By doing so, we are generally able to consistently produce outstanding numbers as well as size. Clients will often return to camp 
each evening having caught 20 to 30 peacock bass, including “butterflies” up to 10 pounds, “barred” and “paca” “teeners (13 to 19 pounds) and the “Monsters” (20 to 25 pounds). And always, the possibility exists for a new world record. This is why the one-time “fishing adventure of a lifetime” often turns into an annual foray to Amazonia and its pristine beauty in search of the mighty Peacock Bass.
